American Pale Ale (APA) - (ale)  An American version of the historical English style, brewed using American ingredients and attitude.  A decidedly hoppy and bitter, moderately strong American pale ale.  Generally, expect a good balance of malt and hops. Fruity esters and diacetyl can vary from none to moderate, and bitterness can range from lightly floral to pungent.  Examples: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Stone Pale Ale, Founders Centennial IPA.
