Bock - (lager) Bock beers are a dark beer that is slightly stronger than the average lager. This is typically a very robust and malty beer with very little hop character. Originally, Bock beer was brewed in Germany and aged through winter. The style Bock is associated with a Goat - some believe because the beer was brewed under the sign of Capricorn (the Goat - December-January). Examples: Sam Adams Winter Lager, Shiner Bock.
